Even though this place rarely sees a tourist, they seemed genuinely excited we came in, and even happier when we tried our best to order in Spanish.We had the traditional “Casado” meal which included salad, fried potatoes, rice, beans, mixed veggies, and your choice of meat, chicken, or fish.Cleaner than any restaurant I’ve been to in Chicago.

Wonderfully friendly cafe - with local fruit juices and milkshakes, eggs and handmade tortilla breakfasts, local coffee, and more. Huge fan of their atmosphere and approach- highly recommended!

One of the best sodas we’ve eaten at. On our way from Liberia to La Fortuna, we came across this soda. Great portion and variety of food, nice vegetarian options aswell. The lady who runs the place is sweet and offers incredible customer service.You have to try their Leches dormita, it’s delicious (local special made in canas town).

Great traditional Costa Rican lunch on way to Monteverdi

We stopped here as a "quick lunch spot" and I'm so happy we did! It's clean, well run, and has the happiest man in Costa Rica running the restaurant. They don't speak English but they're very patient and happy to show you things on their menu (which does have english) or try to explain slowly so you can understand if you speak a little Spanish. They handled my food allergy better than most restaurants I've been to in Costa Rica and showed me that I could eat everything they put on the table. The food was SO good! Best liver I've had in a long time and everything was cooked perfectly. The fresh fruit juice was made right when we ordered it and it was delicious. There is plenty of parking and they are very welcoming.

If you are driving from Rio Celeste to Monteverde this is a must stop!! Would 1000% recommend! Amazing service, the owners were SO kind and so grateful that we were there. We ordered a Casada and ate the best meat we’ve had so far in Costa Rica. 10/10

Great place to stop in between La Fortuna and the coast. We ordered the Traditional meals with fruit infused waters that came in jugs. The chicken tasted so good and has been unlike any other Traditional meal I’ve ordered on the tripSo far with a tasty sauce and bone in chicken accompanied by diced peppers that were roasted to perfection. Definitely worth stopping, fast service & food.
